NOAQ and Dassault systèmes showcased urban flood resilience at Smart city expo in Barcelona
At the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, experts met to discuss how cities can be more resilient to climate risks. Dassault Systèmes, BMT TUFLOW and NOAQ demonstrated how cities can strengthen flood resilience through advanced simulation and mitigation actions.
The NOAQ BOXWALL were for the first time presented as a part of the integrated digital twin environment. The solution enables cities to plan, model, and deploy protection measures before floods occur, combining digital foresight with physical mitigation.
At a keynote pitch at the TechX stage the parties emphasised that flood resilience goes beyond reactive measures. It includes equipping citizens and decision makers with technology that supports simulation, adaptation and mitigation actions. NOAQ showcased the strength to model the BOXWALL mobile flood barrier in a flooding situation before the real event occurs. This way cities and citizens can prepare and with the support create the most effective deployment.
As climate risks escalate, the integration of digital planning and innovative flood protection is set to play a decisive role in shaping the future of resilient urban environments.
